design standards, qualification procedures and engineering practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through participation in international committees, technical groups and standardisation bodies, research outcomes are transformed into practical tools supporting structural design, assessment and qualification worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eurocodes<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eurocode 2 \u2013 Design of Concrete Structures<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Italian Delegate to CEN\/TC250\/SC2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Research and standardisation activities focus on fastening systems, bond, anchorage and reinforced-concrete structures, contributing to the development and revision of European design provisions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Additional Responsibilities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Chair, Ad-hoc Group on Bond<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deputy Chair, WG2 \u2013 Design of Fastenings for Use in Concrete<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Liaison activities with Eurocode 5 and Eurocode 8 working groups <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eurocode 5 \u2013 Design of Timber Structures<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Italian Delegate to CEN\/TC250\/SC5\/WG5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Activities focus on mechanically fastened connections, hybrid structural systems and timber-concrete interfaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eurocode 8 \u2013 Design of Structures for Earthquake Resistance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Italian Delegate to CEN\/TC250\/SC8\/WG5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Activities focus on reinforced-concrete structures, seismic behaviour of connections and coordination with fastening-system provisions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">European Technical Assessment (EOTA)<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Member of the EOTA Expert Group Fixings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Activities include the development, revision and implementation of European qualification procedures for anchors and fastening systems, contributing to European Assessment Documents (EADs) used throughout Europe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">fib \u2013 International Federation for Structural Concrete<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Active member of fib technical groups dealing with fastening systems and bond behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Activities include the development of design recommendations, technical guidance and international dissemination of research findings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">American Concrete Institute (ACI)<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Voting Member of several ACI committees including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>ACI 355 \u2013 Anchorage to Concrete<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ACI 408 \u2013 Bond and Development of Reinforcement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ACI 216 \u2013 Fire Resistance and Fire Protection<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ACI 349 \u2013 Nuclear Structures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ACI 562 \u2013 Assessment, Repair and Rehabilitation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ACI 318 \u2013 Structural Concrete Building Code <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qualification and Technology Transfer<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Research activities are closely integrated with qualification and implementation processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since 2009, qualification programmes have involved more than one hundred European Technical Assessment procedures and collaborations with manufacturers, Technical Assessment Bodies and international stakeholders active in construction products and structural systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Research, Standards and Practice<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I regard standards as a common engineering language linking scientific understanding, experimental evidence and engineering practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ultimate objective is not only to develop new knowledge, but also to translate it into procedures, recommendations and design provisions that
